Created during lockdown 'what will be left of me after i have melted alone and praying' is a video depicting a large-scale cyanotype self-portrait hanging on a washing line in the garden. The stationary camera captures the sound of nature and the quiet atmosphere of the garden. The cyanotype is a contemplative medium that requires time and a hands-on physical approach. During lockdown, my work took a dramatic shift from the digital to the traditional as I needed to practice a mindfulness away from the digital world in order to find calm. This video piece fuses the traditional methods that I newly embraced in my back garden with the digital work I am most comfortable with.
